Oyu Tolgoi Copper Mine​

Location: Mongolia

Client: Rio Tinto / Oyu Tolgoi LLC

The Oyu Tolgoi mine located in Mongolia, consists of one of the largest undeveloped copper reserves in the world. Development of the undergroud phase of the mine, to access the best minerals from deep below the surface where 80 percent of Oyu Tolgoi’s value is found. CMI in conjunction with our local distributor, supplied CMI Minto plugs and sockets and specified outright throughout the underground section of the Oyu Tolgoi Mine site. The ability to customise the equipment for their needs was a huge advantage.

Christmas Creek Power Station

Location: Pilbara region of Western Australia

Client: Fortescue Metals Group

Christmas Creek iron ore mine is operated by the Fortescue Metals Group (FMG), Australia’s third-largest iron ore producer. The mine is part of FMG’s integrated mining operations, which include, an established FMG mine. CMI Electrical Products supplied the High Voltage Power Cables and Low Voltage Power Cables for this Project in site specific lengths. This saved the company money by reducing the wastage of offcuts from their cable lengths.

Tropicana Mine Site

Location: 330km north of Kalgoorlie, Western Australia

Client: AngloGold Ashanti & Independence Group NL

The Tropicana Gold Mine project is located 330 km north-east of Kalgoorlie, Western Australia The project is estimated at an initial mine life of 10 years, now extended to 15 years with an annual production of around 330,000 to 400,000 ounces (9000-11,000 kg) of gold and an overall production of 3.6 million ounces. CMI Electrical Products was successful in supplying the Low Voltage Power and Control Cables, Instrumentation Cables , Fibre Optic Cables, Variable Speed Drive Cables.

Grosvenor Longwall Mining Project

Location: Bowen Basin, QLD, Australia

Client: Anglo American

CMI Electrical supplied Low Voltage Power and Control Cables, Instrumentation Cables, Fibre Optic Cables and Variable Speed Drive Cables for the Grosvenor Coal Handling Preparation Plant (CHPP). The project also utilised CMI’s Minto® quick-release restrained plug and receptacle system to power critical mining equipment, delivering reliable performance and high IP68-rated protection.
